The achievement of our strategic goals is supported by the
Inter-Africa Transport Corporation's way of doing business.
Our philosophy of Value Based Management provides a framework for our employees,
striving to sustainable create value for all our stakeholders:
Our shareholders
our customers
our principals and suppliers
our employees
the communities and environment in which we operate.
For most of our
history, government transport policy’s has taken a modal view of the sector,
concentrating its efforts on what is good for certain operators and the interests
of the higher taxpayers. As a consequence, the vast majority of South African
public transport customers whom the majority happens to be black have been
ignored or under-served.
Currently the Government program to eliminate these issues have been dragging
its heels and the conflict that have developed from this are now at a point
whereby the entrepreneur can take advantage and create an environment that
will benefit the consumer. Inter–Africa Transport Corporation happens
to be one of these companies.
Inter–Africa Transport Corporation echoes the assumptions and conclusions
of both government and other role players suggesting that, one of the major
challenges facing public transport is lack of integration and/or mutual dependency.
While it is acknowledged that the public transport system transports majority
of the country’s working class, it is dismaying to note that there are no
benefits packaged for this segment of the market. The modular benefits that
are there are only for certain segments of the market.
Although free enterprise should be the driver for this program or programs
we believe that a typical socialist program should drive the system enabling
the user certain benefits which in turn will allow for controlled sustainability
of the private as well as public enterprises that are driving these operations.
Evidently, until we have an integrated transport system, facilitating benefits
will remain a dream and a prejudice for the commuting public.
It is against this backdrop that Inter–Africa Transport Corporation
hereinafter referred to as IATC, was established in 2007 with the sole purpose
of occupying what we refer to as existing and untapped opportunities.
